Error Coins Worth Money

Mint errors can turn pocket change into serious money — but most "errors" posted online are just damage. Our guides teach you the difference, so you only get excited about the real thing.

🔍 The Golden Rule of Error Coins

Ask one question: could this have happened after the coin left the mint? Scratches, bends, discoloration and added material are damage, not errors — and damage is never worth a premium. True errors (doubled dies, off-centers, wrong planchets) happened during striking. When in doubt, photograph it well and ask experienced collectors before assuming you've found treasure.
